Words & a Pic – October 14

B&W picture by Brad

Have you ever felt that bittersweet moment of dropping an adult child at the airport with no definite time that you will meet again? Well, that was us a few minutes ago.

Brad has been staying with us for the last several weeks. He has been ever so busy volunteering with NCM-Africa, translating Greg’s 365-day devotional book from French to English, co-authoring a missionary book with me and much more. We trust all will be well, yet we will miss him!

Knowing that I like to take bug pictures, Brad kept watch for likely shots. 🙂

For our last week together, we were able to take vacation time to travel to Capetown, South Africa. It was incredible and the weather was perfect. Predicted rain did not fall and we were able to do everything we planned and more.

Please pray for Brad as he settles into his new job and home. (And say a prayer for us as we re-adjust to the empty nest after having him here.)

Quote from Amy’s reading:From A Marriage Carol by Chris Fabry and Gary Chapman, Chicago: Moody Publishers, 2011.

“Love, if it is real, cannot be abandoned, because it does not come from yourself, but from an unseen spring.” (p. 8)

A Theology in Overalls blog from Greg
